How nice it is to be reunited with a bestest of friends! And better yet, to have some time to explore some wilderness together. It's always an adventure with you, Lindsey...

For this little trip: a walk up to Thunder Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. 

 Despite being eaten alive by mosquitos and a rather cold, sleepless night, it was beautiful!

On the last run of the day yesterday, Charlotte fell one last time, hurting her knee and riding down to the base on the back of a snowmobile :(  She got checked out in the little clinic at the base, but kept on keepin on for the night. She's one tough cookie, that's for sure!

So, Katie and I checked out the Dew Tour and skied hard without Charlotte today.

While we were on the mountain, she went to the real clinic... no broken bones, but mostly likely some sort of ligament/soft tissue damage... We picked her up on crutches :(

After a nice night in Denver, the lovely Sam drove us down to Breck in time to catch a few runs and acclimatize ourselves to the mountains.  Can't believe this time is finally here!! Katie and I are reunited and ready for some shenanigans! 

OH, and this is Charlotte's first time out in the mountains!!!! woohoo!

Exams over {which includes horrible sleep–deprived nights}. School's out. and I'm on my way to Colorado! Charlotte and I flew out, took a bus into denver, and met up with Ian for the night.  {We both actually made it!}

 Another great ski trip! And after hearing some horror stories of "gulf shores SBXI" where every UGA student was, I'm so glad I wasn't there.  Instead, i got to be with awesome people and get in some fresh powder days with sunny, warm weather– couldn't have been happier!  There's nothing quite like the glisten of fresh snow– it's like somebody dumped bottles of glitter everywhere. so magical!

What a wonderful week of fun!  Got a little bit of everything: fat people on a plane (very few as we were en route to Denver, but of course next to me), Cousin Ian, legos, Winter Park, Eye Trip, A-Basin, my old Moondance counselor- Kyle Jackson!, Denver, the real Chubby's mexican with ridiculously heavy burritos, Copper Mountain, my birthday!, Boulder, feathers in my hair, some more Winter Park with more snow, vegan Thanksgiving dinner- yummm, Red Rocks, and back home to humid hotlanta for a lovely birthday breakfast with fabulous friends and family, UGA defeating Tech with the happy family.  I'd say it was a great week!  And, I'm thankful for all of it!!
