paradise

We decided to mix things up this year and head to warmth instead of snow for Christmas. To Curaçao we went!

hello there!

even with a broken leg, Nate could swim

ladies of Curaçao
cocktails and sunsets. this doesn't get old
our attempts at a group shot

every night brought a new painted sunset
and our sunsets beautifully captured by Joyce and her iPhone

Oh to exchange British winter for beautiful Caribbean weather!

funday quote

a certain angel watched over the 2012 winter xgames this weekend... and in her honor, espn honored a beautiful tribute in memory of her.

"There is a pure, unadulterated joy we all experience when we do something we love; an infectious happiness that is impossible to deny."

show the world your love! and share that joy!

23 feet

So I made it home and in the midst of preparing some posts for you to browse.  But, in the meantime, I came across this story of some passionate dirtbags that are truly livin the life!

... a story of a couple of girls traveling with a 23 foot 1970 airstream trailer out west in search of simple-living and passion, wandering "2,600 miles, combing the most beautiful areas of Colorado, Utah, California and Oregon for “full-timers,” people living out of tents or cars in order to do what they love – whether it’s scaling cracks in Moab or protecting ancient Redwood trees in Sequoia."
the result=a short film called 23 feet
and here's an article from women's adventure about these girls

Think they need an extra crew member??

claire smallwood

I recently read an article from Women's Adventure: "Women of Winter: Claire Smallwood."  So I will admit, I have a friend crush on the extraordinaire.  She just does it all!  Freeskier, chef, artist, traveler, linguist, and most importantly, role model.  I reached out to her not expecting anything in return, but I was so pleasantly surprised to see her response in my inbox!  I am still trying to soak it all in, but I am nonetheless beaming.  Yay for a woman taking her own path!

Here's her own website: http://www.clairesmallwood.com/

By the way, she asks me to spread the word about SheJumps down in my neck of the woods far away from the big mountains out west.  So, please join the network, ladies!  It'd be great to have that sort of community around here!
