For sunset, we made sure to find a popular viewing site. While the view was nice, there's something to be said about our quiet, crowdless sunrise station.

We continued the day with some exploring down by the water and found a guy to take us around on a boat. Going against everything our parents have taught us, we said yes and got to see Bagan from the waterfront.

After a long but rather comfortable bus ride, we woke up to find ourselves in an ancient city filled with thousands of temples still standing today. We hopped on a couple of e-bikes (a cross between a bicycle and scooter) and headed out to catch the sunrise.

the streets of yangon

So we spent a couple days adventuring the streets of Yangon and getting used to the most lovely Burmese people. We went to a number of religious sites, filled ourselves with some delicious noodles on the streets, and shopped til we dropped in some lively markets.
